From our studio in Hong Kong, we set out to fix that.
The Daily Struggle
Will it ride up when I sit down?
Will the fabric stick to my skin by noon?
Will I spend all day pulling it down?
These aren't picky questions. They're what millions of Malaysian women deal with every single day.
We spent 6 months in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, talking to over 200 Malaysian women about what they actually need from a crop top.
The market only gives two choices: baggy and boring, or trendy but revealing. We chose neither.
From Hong Kong, For Malaysia
Chanlay started with one question: What if a Hong Kong design studio used everything it knows about Asian fit and quality — to build something specifically for Malaysian women?
Hong Kong gave us the standards: rigorous fabric testing, precision pattern-making, and an eye for detail that travels across borders. But the brief was Malaysian.
We designed for real life: mamak stalls, crowded LRT rides, scorching afternoons, freezing offices. We tested every fabric for tropical humidity. We adjusted every hemline for modest comfort.
This isn't a Hong Kong brand trying to sell in Malaysia. This is a brand that chose Hong Kong design discipline, then asked Malaysian women what they wanted — and listened.
